Once you update the 720 to the updated firmware (8.351) and maps (830.2284), it is basically the same as a 730, including IQ routes and advanced lane guidance. Read the specs and reviews for the 730, a much more costly model. The updates are free within 30 days of buying a new (not refurbished) unit. If Tomtom home software says you have the latest maps but the version is a lower number than 830.2284, call Tomtom and tell them you want the 30 day latest map guarantee - they will take care of it for you.
