I found this item very good with map directions. however, I was just as interested in using it as a handsfree reciever with my verizon phone. I have a samsung phone and tryied several times to connect it. my phone would reconize the tom tom 720, but not the reverse. I finally got a hold of tom tom tech. support and they told me that their service was not compatible with verizon cell service and the brand of phone didn,t matter.
