Bushnell GPS BackTrack Personal Locator (Green) Review

Mixed results. This item is very easy to use. It does its basic job, which is to point you at the place you marked and get you within 15 yards of it. This is fine for locating your car in a huge parking lot. But you will have problems finding your way in a parking garage or indoor mall, where you cannot get GPS signals. Also, the compass function is unsatisfactory. It will keep seeking north, but never really find it. If you take a bunch of readings trying to find north, you can eventually average all the numerous varying pointings and come up with rough "north." Some of these pointings will be 180o off, though, so it takes a while to average them and figure out where approximate north is. Yes, this device does it job, but I think one would be better off carrying a small notepad to jot down notes or a rough map of where the car is parked.Get more detail about Bushnell GPS BackTrack Personal Locator (Green).
