This strap was purchased for the forerunner 305. I use it in outrigger canoe racing, it gets wet. The first one lasted a little over one year. I replaced the battery but it still didn't work. I have and would recommend upgrading to the 310XT if you are going to be in wet locations as it is waterproof. The strap on the 310XT snaps to the monitor in two locations and can come off if your chest rubs against something; I have already lost one.Get more detail about Garmin Heart Rate Monitor.
