The holes on the rubber strap were just off for me. One notch to tight or one notch to loose. The velcro strap can be adusted to exactly the level of comfort you desire. The charging cradle fits easily under the gps without removing the strap and as a small added bonus, the strap has reflective strips for dark runs. Ok, they are VERY small reflective strips but hey, every bit helps. Having had the FR50 (just OK, watch band breaks after a year, not enough data storage, annoying buttons that press and erase things when you stretch or do pushups, light that doesn't stay on long enough, etc), Garmin has made many an improvement with this version. Several others have reviewed this actual item, so I'll simply say that if you are an FR50 user and are frustrated by many of its shortcomings, the FR60, while no model of perfection, is a giant leap forward. Also note that you'll enjoy it a lot more if you read and re-read the manual and play with the screens a lot; you want to be familiar with how it works, how to calibrate (I do it manually) the footpod, how to play with the data, etc.

Purchased the GP-1 to help organize photos with the "Places" feature in iPhoto. I've used the product for three weeks and used it on a cruise ship and while touring Bermuda, both on land and ferries. I am very pleased with it.
I would have given the unit 5 stars but the interface on the D90 is a problem. Although I list more Cons than Pros, the GPS works great and gets the job done.
Pros: The GPS may take from 5 to 90 seconds to determine its current location, it depends on its last known position and any obstacles. Once established, it maintains commo even when shadowed by buildings, trees, inside a bus, etc. If the camera is turned off and the position hasn't changed considerably, the GPS reestablishes position usually within 5 seconds of powering on.
Cons: Specific to the D90 interface.
First and foremost, the interface cable is awkward and without certain precautions will lead to damaging the D90 input connector. The cable connector comes straight out of the camera connection located on the bottom left side of the D90. When cradling the camera from the left side, for stability, the user needs to be cautious not to apply any pressure to the cable/connector. Over the long term, damage to the camera's connector could result in a costly repair. This needs to be addressed by Nikon, but until then, the owner is on the hook for any damage and repair costs.
Second, the hot shoe mount isn't very practical. When you look through the view finder with the GP-1 mounted in this position you might bump the unit with your forehead. In addition, the GP-1 interferes with the pop-up flash unit! Also, the cable dangles and is in the way of your fingers. I used the supplied adapter to mount the GP-1 to the strap and had the excess cable held in position with a small velcro strap. This worked very well during my travels. As an added precaution against causing damage to the camera connector, I disconnected the camera connection whenever the camera wasn't in use.
Finally, battery life is shortened when using the GP-1. The unit uses the camera's battery for power. To ensure that the unit remains locked on to the satellite, especially when you're moving about or with potential obstructions (between tall buildings, inside a moving bus, on stateroom balcony, etc.), the camera should be left powered on. Maybe you have to touch the exact center of the touch button. I bought the GPS unit only with no accessories to see what was in the box. To update the software which mine needed, you need a UBS/mini USB cable which is NOT included. Buy one at Best Buy, etc. Does not come with a protective travel pouch. No AC charger. I use the IGO system so I just had to buy the charging tip. I did a software update and it worked flawlessly. Just a quick start manual is included, to get the full manual you need to go the Garmin web site. There is also a slot for a micro SD card.

I ordered this waterproof case so that I could mount my Garmin nuvi 255w auto GPS to the handlebars of my mountain bike. The case arrived and included the mounting bracket, as well as foam inserts that allow for padding, in case you have a smaller GPS. It fit my nuvi 255w perfectly and will easily fit a Motorola Droid, or the newer, larger Droid X (which I plan to be using the case for once I upgrade my cell phone).

The mounting bracket installed in seconds. The clamp which goes around the bar is already rubberized and has small ridges that help secure it tightly. The bracket also includes a ball socket, allowing you to rotate it to a portrait orientation if needed. It allows for about 40 degrees of movement from center, letting you tilt the unit if needed. The front window is clear plastic and feels heavy enough to withstand regular usage. My Garmin touchscreen still worked just fine through the plastic. The zipper which encircles the case is vinyl and hides the zipper track, creating a rainproof seal. My GPS/phone will definitely be safe even if I get caught in the heaviest downpour. There is a quick release built in to the bracket as well. It requires a little force to remove it, which is a good thing. I'd rather have it too stiff than have my GPS falling off. There is also an access port at the bottom of the case, in case you need to run headphones and/or power.

I have been using handheld GPS for the outdoors and fieldwork for over 10 years and most of them has been Magellan. I consulted a lot of different reviews about this unit (as well as comparable ones from GARMIN) before deciding on purchasing this particular model.
