Garmin 4.3-Inch Premium Carrying Case with Flap Best Quality

The GPS is not designed to fit into a case. The back of the GPS is exposed for the power cords.
Cases are a waste with the Garmin GPS that I purchased.Get more detail about Garmin 4.3-Inch Premium Carrying Case with Flap.

BKT200: Third Party Garmin Nuvi 200 Series Replacement Bracket (Fits 200, 200W, 250, 250W, 260, 260W, 270, 205, 205W, 255, 255W, 265T, 265WT, 275T) Immediately

I took a chance on this knock-off bracket since the Garmin OEM replacement part was so expensive. There are two important functions for this bracket plus cosmetic finish:
1. Smooth-secure pivot on ball joint - I rate this 9 out of 10; This is probably the most important function and it performs very well.
2. Secure attachment of clip into slots of GPS device - I rate this 6 out of 10 - It doesn't clip as snappy as the original but it gets the job done.
3. Cosmetic finish - I rate this 4 out of 10 - The surface finish is more crude than the original, but who cares. The bracket isn't even visible when the GPS is installed in front of it.

Overall, it's four stars out of five. Don't be worried about this. It will get the job done and you'll save money from the greedy spare parts department at Garmin.

Bracketron PHV-202-BL Grip-iT GPS and Mobile Device Holder (Black) This instant

I purchased this Grip-iT holder to use with my iPhone 3g. It is great built quality and installs very easily into the air vent in my car. It seems to be pretty sturdy and holds the iPhone 3g very nicely without any fear of it falling out. The bottom fold out brace bars are adjustable which is good for the iphone since you will want to move them from blocking the speakers. I am very happy with my purchase!

So here is the only negative or flaw in this design for me. Although the Grip-iT mount has a very nice adjustable rotating ball mount that allows you to turn your device from portrait to landscape and "fine tune" the angle, it is a very manual process. Other car mounts like the Kensington mounts have a rotating holder that clicks into pre set angles but is very easily done even while driving. The Grip-iT require that you make your adjustment and then lock it into place by tightening a large finger adjustable "nut" behind your device. This requires 2 hands...one to hold your device in place and the other to tighten the mount. I don't recommend doing this while driving. This flaw would really only apply to devices that can work in landscape and portrait modes. Since I use a GPS app on my iPhone I want to flip the phone to landscape on the fly. This is not possible with this Grip-iT mount.

Over all it satisfies 99% of my requirements! For the price, I can't find a better value!

Shop For Garmin Edge 500 GPS Bicycle Unit

I've owned the Garmin Edge 605 and 305, and this is the best yet. The color screens are just hard to see in the sunlight, so I prefer the B&W mapless models, and this does much more and works better than the previous Garmin biking products.

As always, Garmin's technical writing is too sparse, so you have to just feel your way around to find out how to use the system. Mine kept shutting down in the middle of the ride until I found out how to turn off the automatic shut-down feature. However, this model is easier to see, the battery lasts longer, it has an accurate built-in THERMOMETER, it is lighter, smaller, and has fewer buttons. Also, I was able to upload all my rides that were saved on Garmin Connect.

A good change is the fact that they just provide one mapless model, and if you want the extras (heart rate, cadence, power) you simply buy the add-ons (not a new unit). And other brands of heart-monitor straps work with it!

Two problems:
1. So far I've been unable to set up my desired readouts (mph and distance) when following a training course (I could do that with the 305)
2. I've been unable to download courses that I created through Map My Ride.Get more detail about Garmin Edge 500 GPS Bicycle Unit.

Where To Buy Magellan RoadMate 1220 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

wE HAVE three caRS, each one with a different GPS System. This one is the easiest to use and the most accurate dispite the fact it was our least expensie one. It is easy to follow when just listening to the voice prmpmts and dings. It makes a unique ding for left or right turns. I recommend this one.Get more detail about Magellan RoadMate 1220 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator.

Purchase Garmin Oregon 550T 3-Inch Handheld GPS Navigator with 3.2MP Digital Camera (U.S. Topographic Maps)

This unit sure has made geocaching easier for me. It has a few things that I don't like about it, such as not being able to delete "found" geocaches from the unit after you've logged them online. At least I haven't learned how it can be done yet, without connecting it to a computor. But other than that, and a couple other small details that apply only to geocaching, this is an outstanding GPS with a great camera!Get more detail about Garmin Oregon 550T 3-Inch Handheld GPS Navigator with 3.2MP Digital Camera (U.S. Topographic Maps).
