Buy Garmin Nuvi 1300T Gps Navigation System

First, I have owed and used various GPS units from various makers for more than 25 years. I am very familiar with their features and know how to use them. I purchased a Garmin 1300T from a big box store because I needed it immediately while in the midst of a road trip and was unable to wait for even express delivery. Everything about the experience was bad. First the display unit in the store was not working, (which should have been a clue) so I could not evaluate the interface. I was not allowed to open the bubble pack to view the contents of an actual sales item, but was assured that (1) I could return the item with no restocking fee if I was unhappy, AND (2) The package contained both an AC power adapter and USB connector cord as well as car power cord and windshield mount. There is NO AC Adapter or USB cord included. The box contains the unit, a car power cord, a completely useless one page quick start guide, and a crumby suction cup mount with snap on ball and socket clip that will not hold the unit steady while underway in any moving vehicle. The only good thing I can say about it is the unit feels substantially built and has a bright clear display. The maps have a cartoon quality about them which I dislike, but is similar to other like units. The thing powers up with an endless series of disclaimer screens that require you to agree to a multitude of lawyer induced "you can't sue me" conditions of use every single time you turn it on. The address or data input screen has an annoying self completion feature that anticipates (incorrectly) what you are attempting to type and constantly tries to input the wrong destination. I did not have the unit long enough to learn how to override this. The traffic advisory feature, which I also was unable to turn off, bombards you with endless unwanted advertising. It turns out my unit was defective in that the touch screen and keyboard entry touch screen had some dead spots making accurate typed data input impossible. I really hate this product. When I attempted to return it within 24 hours, a half hour battle ensued over the retailer's attempt to charge a restocking fee, until I proved to three increasing level managers in a row that this piece of junk was indeed defective. If any of you choose to buy one over my advice, at least make sure you can get your money back.Get more detail about Garmin Nuvi 1300T Gps Navigation System.
