I too love the voice activation on the 885T, and I also lost the remote when moving it to another car. Unfortunately, no instructions on how to activate the 2nd remote were included in the package. In regards to S. Jamieson's 1 star review, I did a quick search on Garmin's website and found out how to activate the remote:
To activate a second ASR remote with your 8xx unit:
1. Power the device on
2. Touch Tool
3. Touch Settings
4. Touch System
5. Touch the down arrow
6. Touch Add or Change next to Remote
7. Touch Activate New Remote
8. Press a button on the ASR remote
9. Touch Ok
10. Touch and hold the Back button to return to the main menu
The instructions above worked like a charm.
My only complaint is the inability to customize the main map screen with a compass, and miles to destination. If anyone knows how to do that, please share!
