Magellan Maestro 4250 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator Review

I purchased the Magellan Maestro last year and have been very pleased. The turn-by-turn spoken directions are clear and there is plenty of warning for your next turn.
Some highway addresses are tricky to put in a GPS, probably any GPS. In my area Routes or Highways often have street names along portions of the road.
Businesses should note GPS directions in their ads.Get more detail about Magellan Maestro 4250 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator.

Garmin nüvi 350 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator Top Quality

Having owned this unit for two years, I agree with every positive word. But the 350's time has come and gone. It's time to consider the newer, less-expensive Nuvis out there, unless you can get this for $100 or less.Get more detail about Garmin nüvi 350 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator.

TomTom GO 930 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator Immediately

This is my thrird TomTom GO, and my last one.

Cons:
- Maximum display brightness is much darker than on my GO 920
- Bluetooth remote takes 10 sec to connect
- Bluetooth remote works for the first three times after turning the device on, then no longer. You have to reset the unit (!) for it to work again, very annoying!
- One button on the Bluetooth remote requires you to push it hard in order for it to detect you pressed the button.
- Accuracy of house numbers is not perfect - sometimes 0.2 miles away.
- TomTom seems to be reluctant to fix such issues and instead rests assured that nobody will return the product for 2 weeks repair since they may not be able to live without it for so long.Get more detail about TomTom GO 930 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator.

Garmin nuvi 270 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator Best Quality

Bought this item because I was going to England for several months. This GPS comes with maps of Europe already pre-loaded. This was a huge bonus. It worked great while in England. While in London, I used the pedestrian mode quite a bit. It even told me where all the traffic cameras were in England. This was a great product at a great price!Get more detail about Garmin nuvi 270 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator.

JVC KW-NT1 Double-DIN Navigation with 6.4-Inch Widescreen Receiver with Detachable Touch-Panel Monitor, DVD/CD/USB/SD Card, iPod/iPhone/USB 2.0/Bluetooth Get it now!

Well initially I was very impressed with the JVC KW-NT1, if you're staying put and don't plan to travel then I highly recommend it. On the flip side, if you're in a position where you want to take your car to another continent, or to a place on the same continent, that isn't included in the somewhat lacking map set, don't bother buying this. Simple reason, really. Unlike most Satelite Navigation these days, the JVC KW-NT1's map database can't be added to or altered. You have the maps that come with the system, and nothing more. I recently decided to buy one and while having the cool facade, it sadly is very, very lacking. In short, you won't have a clue where you're headed, but on the plus side you'll be able to listen to european radio stations because the tuner can switch ranges quite easily. So, at least you'll have music while you fumble around with your A1 paper map. :) Biggest waste of money I've had the pleasure of dealing with.

Road ready and audio dynomite! Bluetooth and sound are flawless! The NAV needs the POI upgrade to be useful. The AVIC feeds is cool - allows you to create your own POI's and group them. Many do it yourself-ers have posted their POI's. IPOD control took a little getting used to. Low Price Magellan RoadMate 1212 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

At times when you try to program a city into SELECT CITY box, you may get three or four letters, and the GPS picks up on a city that is not what you wantand it will not let you finish typing in the city you want. It notifies you just a little to late to make a turn if you should be in the wrong lane.

Discount Kenwood DNX6140 6.1-Inch Wide Double-DIN In-Dash Nagivation with Built-in Bluetooth USB/iPod Direct Control/DVD Receiver

The Kenwood DNX6140 head unit is amazingly useful and easy to use. I looked a long time before ordering my first DNX6140 from Crutchfield, which I installed in our '05 Toyota Sienna. I was so impressed that I ordered a second unit (the DNX5140) from Amazon (at a better price) and installed it in my Toyota MR2. I liked the two of them so well that we installed another DNX6140 (also purchased from Amazon) in our VW Passat. The only problem now will be having to buy three map updates each year or two, since Garmin doesn't yet offer a multiple unit map upgrade.

Pluses include the proven Garmin navigation system, which I was already familiar with, and which influenced my decision to buy the Garmin over some other non-Garmin units. The audio system is excellent, with all the inputs, outputs, and adjustments you could possibly need. It sounds GREAT! I also installed Kenwoods CCD-2000 backup cameras on all three cars, and find their backup camera display on the head unit an excellent safety feature. Also, the backup screen comes up very quickly after starting your vehicle, which was not the case with a previous backup system I had installed. FM and AM performance is top notch. Tone settings are individually memorized for each function (DVD, FM, iPod, etc.) Oh, the iPod interface is excellent, this is actually my favorite feature. The DNX6140/5140 controls your iPod remotely so you can keep it safely stored out of sight. It includes all iPod functions, and displays album artwork on its screen.

Finally, the Parrot Bluetooth interface is excellent. It mutes audio and routes your call through your cars front speakers (adjustable,) and its steering wheel column mounted noise canceling microphone sends out good voice quality to your caller. It can be set to auto answer after a ring or two, and you can program in auto-dial numbers.

Note: The Kenwood DNX5140 is virtually identical to the 6140, except that it doesn't include the Parrot Bluetooth hands-free option, at a lower price. I put a DNX5140, with Kenwoods KCA-BT200 Bluetooth adapter in my Toyota MR2, and it turned my DNX5140 into a DNX6140 but for a lower price than the the 6140.

The Kenwood DNX6140/DNX5140 are both EXCELLENT units!Get more detail about Kenwood DNX6140 6.1-Inch Wide Double-DIN In-Dash Nagivation with Built-in Bluetooth USB/iPod Direct Control/DVD Receiver.
