I just installed this yesterday for use with my HTC Hero.
Other reviews have complained that it's too difficult to switch between landscape and portrait modes because it's done with a nut that tightens from the back. Not at all the case. You can easily set that nut to an appropriate tension to allow it to hold firm but be movable. I love it. Very adjustable and stable. Not too difficult to take off either, if you prefer.
Check the max size before ordering for a large GPS unit, but if yours fits or you have a higher end phone that you're using as your navigation unit (as I am), this is exactly what you're looking for.
Overall, a great clip. Mounts right up easily, and doesn't look gawdy.

The GPS works great. I'm having some software issues though. I think it may be as much the fault of Windows as it is DeLorme. The program will shut down for no apparent reason. And it sometimes changes views on it's own. For instance if I'm running the program im my house it will go to some other part of the country without me doing anything and when I'm driving it will sometimes zoom out but at least it does stay with me so when I zoom back in it still shows me being where I really am. Bought this Unit more than 3 months back. Overall unit was great & it has many features. The wide screen is very good & makes it easy to navigate. The unit has music player and SD card slot where I put my 4GB SD & it's equipped with FM transmitter so you can listen to music, alerts as well as navigation instructions on the car speakers along with unit's built-in double speakers at the back.

The unit has video-in port where I connected it with a back-up camera using Garmin A/V cable & it can be connected to DVD player. The unit also has POI alerts so you can just add points of radars or other things so you get sound & screen alerts 1km or 500m before reaching that location.

I give it 4 star on accuracy of GPS because the GPS receiver is not that sensing & you lost it easily when you are not having clear view to the sky.

Also 3 star for the Portability because this unit doesn't have built-in battery.

This device speaks street names but doesn't have other advanced features like Bluetooth support etc, but I didn't need them. I have long been looking for a case for my Garming etrex vista GPS. Up to now, I've been carrying the unit in my camera bag, mixed up with my DSLR. This case, then, fills a real need. Although the neophrene material isn't particularly thick, I found it provided plenty of protection for my (admittedly) rugged GPS. Most of the reviewers here have complained about the tightness of the battery pouch, and it is a problem. I had difficulty opening the zipper on the pouch all the way, as it tended to catch on one of the batteries. But there is a slight advantage to not having the batteries loose: they won't fall out when you unzip the pouch, nor will they jostle around while in the pouch. In any case, I don't find the tight fit of the batteries that big a deal. I'm a bit more concerned about the decision to use an "extra-sturdy" carbiner as the means of attaching the device to one's person. No doubt the carbiner itself is sturdy enough; but I wonder about the material used to attach the carbiner to the bag. And if you hook the carbiner to a belt loop, the bag tends to bounce around a bit against one's thigh. I would have preferred the ability to attach the bag to the belt itself--although, to be sure, I will admit the carbiner method allows fast access to the bag itself, as it's very easy to clip it on and off to access its contents.

To sum up: the bag, despite its imperfections, has worked quite well for me on some of the shorter hikes I've used it on; but I am just a little concerned on how well it will hold up on longer jaunts.Get more detail about Lowepro 3.5-Inch Navi Handheld GPS Carrying Case (Black).
