Shop For Motorola Motonav TN565T 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Lifetime Traffic

So I did quite a bit of research before I bought this GPS. It had decent reviews (4 stars at the time) and the main complaints were that the customer service was horrible and the lack of directions. Since I am somewhat "technologically advanced" I thought it would be no problem. Boy was I mistaken. But I'll get to that later. For now, I'll start with the pros.

The general GPS usage is a cinch and works great. After the first load up it starts quick and easy. The rerouting works fast. Really fast. Sometimes I would miss a turn on purpose just to hear it get cut off from saying "rerouting" because it already rerouted the trip. The traffic is so-so, most of the live traffic is correct, but every once in a while it will be a little off. But just as a warning, it does use your phone to make a call for traffic. Since I do not have a data package on my phone it works out for me, but I know people complained about how long it took to get information via phone call vs 3G.

The physical screen is gorgeous, and the 3D mapping looks great (although I wish you didn't have to pay for the 3D buildings). The touch sensitivity works great. Plus the Bluetooth sounds pretty decent for coming out of a GPS. The voice recognition works great with no adaptation to your voice. The left panel is also awesome, so you can see ahead without actually loosing the map.

Now for the cons. I didn't initially want to bring it up, but I had to send my GPS back to Amazon due to it not functioning correctly. It initially had a GPS signal, but it would loose it and wouldn't find the signal again for hours or sometimes the next day. I don't think that it was a problem due to the GPS, but the packaging. The GPS sits in a little slot in the front of the box and can fall into the back where all the pieces are and be thrown around (and get minor scratches). The first GPS I recieved was found like that. So Amazon being awesome (like usual) they sent me a new one and it worked normally.

The first thing I did when I received it was I updated it. You have to download some weird program and have it sync and download the updates. The odd thing was that it didn't have enough "space" for the newest update. I know other people had that problem too, but I ended up deleting some of the languages that I don't speak and it made room no problem.

I also was a little upset when I realized that I couldn't use the text feature with my phone. It says that it works with most phones, so I was somewhat confused when I couldn't sync my texts.

The MAJOR problem I had was that the instruction manual and the online help is HORRIBLE. The online manual is, for the most part, the same as the physical manual. And the physical manual only goes over the very simple things. It almost looks more like a media pamphlet for the GPS than a manual. They don't even show how to delete folders you make in your favorites. I still haven't figured that one out.

My last gripe with the GPS is the charging set up. It is very unusual that you need the cradle in order to plug in the GPS to the car outlet. You can't just plug it directly in. The USB cord does, but not the car plug.

For just the GPS portion, it is great. For the extra features and manual, it is eh. All in all, it is an OK GPS. I wouldn't rave about it, but there are way worse things out there.

Removable Air Vent Mount For Magellan GPS

I got one of these Air Vent Mounts for my Magellan Roadmate 1440 and it does just fine. I don't know how it could work any better, we use it in our 02 Nissan Altima. Just take your time when putting it in OR taking it out of the vent and you'll be fine. One way the clips are difficult to open so look close and think about how they work before you install them and you'll be fine. I would say buy it here on Amazon because I didn't realize it is cheaper here than on ebay so I bought it from ebay.......... It is a GOOD AIR VENT MOUNT folks..... Buy DeLorme AF-7852-000 Earthmate PN Series RAM Bicycle Mount

Very well built bicycle mount. I was disappointed when I saw that the whole thing was mounted to the handle bars by zip ties, this part could stand to improved. But once mounted it hangs tight and works very well. I like the quick disconnct, makes it fast & easy to remove & snap back on.Get more detail about DeLorme AF-7852-000 Earthmate PN Series RAM Bicycle Mount.

Cheap TomTom ONE 130-S 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Box Version)

I'm on my second unit. TomTom replaced the first one because it would randomly turn on all by itself while just sitting on the counter. The replacement unit does this as well. Of course this will result in a dead battery, which is a pain in the butt when you're in a hurry and just want to grab the GPS and make a short run w/o bothering with cords, etc.

It happens once a week or so. Most people probably don't notice because they keep it in the car.

There are numerous complaints on the internet about various TomTom models that do the same thing and that TomTom has not provided any solution. Too bad they don't care more about customer satisfaction.Get more detail about TomTom ONE 130-S 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Box Version).

Save Garmin GTM 25 with Lifetime Traffic

This doesn't come with any instructions. Fortunately, I've found input from reviewers on other sites that are helping me figure it out. I live in the DFW area where there are frequent backups due to accidents. I bought this to help alert me when I need to find alternate routes. It's worth the price if you have a unit that doesn't come with the traffic included. If you are buying a new unit and want this feature, expect to pay the extra $100+ for the price of the unit. It only works in large metropolitan areas, so it won't help you much if they're doing construction on an interstate when you are traveling. I guess there are still some things AAA is good for! Don't waste your money on anything with MSN Direct traffic. Microsoft is dropping support for MSN Direct in early 2011.Get more detail about Garmin GTM 25 with Lifetime Traffic.

Vehicle Power Cable For Oregon Series Right now

The vehicle power cable works great and saves the NiMH batteries from discharging while the Oregon is plugged in. I really like that the plug has a red light on it that clearly indicates that the unit is getting power. The price was great for genuine Garmin. Delivery was just as promised. I would definitely order from this supplier again in the future.Get more detail about Vehicle Power Cable For Oregon Series.

Lowest Price GoRide iPhone Bike Mount

I haven't had any disintegrating mount yet, knock wood. I like the look and the minimalism of the mount. What I've done to reduce the potential for iPhone damage is to mount a lens cap connector to the iPhone shell. I then loop the shell so that is connected to the stem. Even if the connector fails, I have a backup of the cell phone dangling off the stem. If the connector fails, I'll adjust my rating. I understand that the newer bases have better plastics.
