Buy Pioneer AVIC-S2 Portable Smart GPS Navigation with 3.5" Touch Display

This unit has multiple gliches and problems that require an immediate downlod of sogtware. The maps are way out of date and it will cost 129.99 to buy the latrest ,ap series which is now 2 years old. Buying this product would be a serious mistake as there are many much better, that are cheaper and are up to date with their maps. The others also sell support for the maps with the unit.Get more detail about Pioneer AVIC-S2 Portable Smart GPS Navigation with 3.5" Touch Display.

Purchase Sanyo NVM-4050 Easy Street 4-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

I'd give it zero stars if I could.

I won this product in a Sanyo booth at a trade show last September. I gave it to my wife because her nav system in her car was very out of date and could not be updated (one of the early systems Acura installed in their cars). She found it difficult to use and put it on my desk for me to figure out for her. That was last September.

We're going on vacation to the East coast, and I decided it was the perfect opportunity to learn how to use the thing, and for her to get familiar with it while I was in the car with her. I tried to use it on my drive to work this morning, and the thing started to smell funny and put out a lot of heat. It's dead. I think the power input circuit is fried. I tried to plug it into my computer at work via USB, and it overloaded the USB port on the computer!

So I called Sanyo this afternoon and told them the story. Without a receipt, they will do nothing about the product. I explained that I won it and was given it by Sanyo, but that didn't matter. No receipt = no warranty.

I'm sure they saw a lot of value in giving these things out at the show. If people liked them, they would recommend them. But, as with the quality of other products I have experience with from Sanyo, a poor quality product that dies instantly and that the manufacturer isn't willing to help with gets you nothing but bad press. I cannot recommend anything made by Sanyo. For a nav system, I'd go with one of the tried and true brands like Garmin or Tom Tom. At least you know they'll be in the business for more than a short period of time!Get more detail about Sanyo NVM-4050 Easy Street 4-Inch Portable GPS Navigator.

Order Delphi NAV200 GPS Navigation System - NAV20000-11B1

My nav200 was having the problem that other people mentioned with "new route" always being shown for the last 3 months. Finally my nav200 died a couple of days ago meaning that the buttons light up but the screen is dark.

Apparently there is no reset button to try. Also there is no user-replaceable battery. I just finished reading the user manual on the CD so this information is accurate.

I guess it's dead for good. The tech support phone number at delphi is not operating on sunday nights as I write this. I would have called for help. But I see that several other users have had this same problem and I see that theirs is permanently dead too so I guess I wont bother wasting my time with the support phone call.

When it was working it worked pretty well. However it showed the hourglass for 15 seconds at a time which is too much when you are in a car but its ok when you are sitting at a desk. Of course you dont use this kind of device at a desk. Also the "I agree it's not Delphi's fault if I crash" contract window popped up every time you turned it on and you had to click that button which is annoyhing and not easy when driving, almost caused me to crash. You have be very careful in pointing because there is a Cancel button below it which sometimes you hit by mistake if you drive over a bump. OVerall the startup speed took like 60 seconds which is very annoying unless you are sitting a desk.

I paid $300 which is a lot of money for a brick after only 1.5 years of use.

I guess I wont be buying another Delphi because I cant afford to buy another GPS every 1.5 years.

Shop For RightWay 200 GPS Navigator with Multi-stop Route Optimization and Gas Calulator

This thing is worthless. After a few months the calibration is wrong on the screen, and can't be fixed. The device never retains my settings for volume, voice, etc. The reset button doesn't reset anything. The maps are all outdated and RightWay wants $35 to update the device with the maps I should have received when I ordered it.

It can't find out where you are unless you are completely still for the longest 3 minutes ever.

This device worked fine for two months but now is just a worthless problem.Get more detail about RightWay 200 GPS Navigator with Multi-stop Route Optimization and Gas Calulator.

Nextar X3 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator and MP3 Player Review

I've own the Nextar X3-T for 2 years now and will NEVER own another Nextar product again. NO SUPPORT, No updates, nothing. Had to go out and buy a Tom Tom while on vacation to Disneyworld so I could find my way. Unit is SLOW - you can get where you are going before it locks in on a satellite. No map updates - my maps are over 4 years old and Nextar has no plans to update.

Unit also locks constantly - have to keep pressing the RESET button in order to get it to half-way function. Buy something else - I would purchase this unit if it was $5 dollarsGet more detail about Nextar X3 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator and MP3 Player.

Sony NVU84 4.8-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator with Text-to-Speech Top Quality

This is my first GPS and I am very satisfied with the Sony. The screen display is very clear and pleasing to the eye. The map information has been current for our travel. The cost for the map upgrade is rather expensive and hasn't been purchased as of yet.Get more detail about Sony NVU84 4.8-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator with Text-to-Speech.

Magellan Maestro 4200 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator This instant

I bought this unit in July 09, expecting it has the most recent map update, after getting lost due to its terrible directions, I discovered that it has an older map version.

I called the company, after being on hold many minutes and being passed around; I was told that I had to purchase the 09 map update. I told them how ridicilous this sounded, since I purchased the unit in 09 and that rightfully expect that the unit should have new maps; they curtly said this is their policy, and that was that...

Save yourself time & money; buy a Garmin! Better service...Get more detail about Magellan Maestro 4200 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator.

Harman Kardon GPS-810 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator and Media Player Immediately

Harman sent the 810 to me after a GPS-510 warranty exchange. Have also previously used the Garmin Nuvi. Right off the bat the solid construction is noticable against other HK's and Garmins. The menu interface layout takes to you very naturally, which pays dividens when using while driving. Users can switch back and forth from mp3 playback to Map view with one click. This unit has guided me across the country,. it is packed with features, one major beef i have with feature-loaded personal media devices is they oftentimes lack the processing power to handle their tasks, or they compromise the navigation capabilities. The proc on the 810 offers plenty of speed and handles all the tasks you can throw at it, with no sacrifice to navigation.

Being a Harman Product, its audio roots are notable, it delivers a much wider range of sound frequency than my girlfriends ipod touch when hooked up to the car stereo via the aux output jack. Sends distortion-free bass response to my 2x12" subs. (word of advice: use the audio jack built into the mount, not the one on the GPS itself)

A few issues, I use this system 80% of the time as a car MP3 Player (8GB SDHC Transcend card) and 20% of the time for navigation. The system still insists on syncing up to the satelites before allowing me to use the mp3 player. I have owned the GPS for a year now and it is not clear to me how to update the maps, there is a firmware version out to adress some bluetooth issues. Synced fine with a KRZR and girlfriends blackberry pearl, but is hit-or-miss with my HTC Shadow. (if not for these issues the unit would have earned full 5 stars)

For those who could care less about the media features, the Graphical layout of the map is refined and sophisticated. The best that i have seen thus far. Far better map graphics than Garmin's fisher-price rendition.Get more detail about Harman Kardon GPS-810 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator and Media Player.
