Order LG LN735 Portable Navigation Device

As of today our family has 4 of these. We've been all over the country with it and as with any GPS there is a Map mistake from time to time, but we have never been lost with it. It's all in what you get used to. Our friends had a Garmen on a trip south and we had the LG, neither of us knew how to use the other as easily as our own. Overall it is a great unit. Of course there is some brand loyalty involved here too. All TV's, DVD's, and Cell Phones in our house are LG. I own what I sell and believe in.Get more detail about LG LN735 Portable Navigation Device.

Where To Buy GARMIN 010-00522-00 Streetpilot C550 GPS Receiver

So far this unit works fairly well but I haven't been able to figure out all of the features yet. It came with a flyer of quick instructions but no real instruction book. I just returned from a short trip 3 hours from home and it tried to take me on a path 45 minutes out of my way. I am sure this is because the settings are for scenic route, back roads only or something else but since there are no real instructions I will have to stumble around with the program until I figure it out. It was advertised to include an interface cable to the computer and a suction mount neither of which was in the box. I have tried to purchase a cable but since I live in a rural community the resources are skimpy. It appears to me that this was a repackaged item that was not checked to verify that everything was in the package.Get more detail about GARMIN 010-00522-00 Streetpilot C550 GPS Receiver.

Shop For Super Trackstick GPS Tracking Device with Powerful "Trackstick Manager" Software for Windows Download

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1L2CA38W80JFU Video: Bug Trackstick customer support wont assist with.

Buyer Beware! Trackstick customer support is absolutely horrible. I've had our Super Trackstick for a couple years now and rarely use it, but once in a while I dust it off and try to get it working again. Any emails to their customer support all seem to get routed through one very useless person who after providing you with a couple of useless and insulting support tips like changing batteries and erasing the memory finally tells you shes done helping you and you should buy a new one. Totally inappropriate. We followed her advice one and upgraded from the original Trackstick to the Super... only to run into more problems.

Attached video is illustration of latest rapid red/green blinking issue they failed to provide support on.
They don't even have a support forum or community to self serve the issues when they seem to be incapable of providing support.

Aside from that, device is nice a rugged and seems to do exactly what we need it to.. track expeditions... if it weren't for the horrible company and support :/Get more detail about Super Trackstick GPS Tracking Device with Powerful "Trackstick Manager" Software for Windows Download.

Lowrance 000-0125-19 XOG 3.5-Inch Crossover GPS Navigator

My Xog was great for a few weeks, easy to use, touch screen, ect. It was used for vacation driving and back home for dual sport bike riding on trails and rural roads (with the optional FreedomMaps SD card. One day it got lost and never found position again. Finally after waiting on hold for an hour or so, the customer service rep gave me a RA number to return. After 8 months and several phone calls they got a new batch of Xogs in from China. And my new one is working fine a few days now. Maybe I should use my 10 year old Garmin 76S on the bike and hiking, this Xog for only car or boat use. It was a disapointment for me seeing the made in China logo on the back. For years I have used Lowrance sonar for fishing, great US company, top of the line, (or was). I ordered a Garmin Oregon this week and maybe it will be a good US made product like my old Garmin 76S. Or could be another piece of Chinese junk, will have to wait and see!Get more detail about Lowrance 000-0125-19 XOG 3.5-Inch Crossover GPS Navigator.

TomTom ONE 130 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Box Version) Review

I love my TOMTOM!!! I tease my BF sometimes that if it were down to him and my TOMTOM it would be tough for me to choose which I would take on a trip!!! I have used TOMTOM now in three different cities over the past two years and it has been amazing. I used it extensively in Eugene OR and Vancouver WA and also Spokane WA. I have also used it for long distance trips covering several states. I have used it to find my way to work and back home so many times . . . I can't imagine life without it now!! I have never had problems with the speakers - they are always plenty loud! I usually keep it almost all the way turned down now because I'm pretty aware of it when I'm driving and don't need to hear the prompts. If I'm trying to find a new place in the downtown of a city I usually turn my radio off and the speaker up a bit so that I can concentrate more. I love that you can look and see time estimates for when you are going to get someplace and also that you can change the views and what stats are shown. Also love the directions that you can see in text (just like mapquest) and that you can browse the map. Occasionally newer places it wont find. If you are trying to put in an exact address of a place you found and it doesn't have it I just save the cross street and my memory serves well enough the once I'm there I can find it again anyways. The battery doesn't last forever . . . I would guess about two to three hours. I just keep the charger in my car though and have it wrapped over my steering wheel (my TOMTOM is on the LT side instead of under the rear view mirrow) and it is super easy to just plug in the charger when I get in the car so that has never been an issue. You wont regret getting a TOMTOM!! I'm getting my parents one for Christmas this year!Get more detail about TomTom ONE 130 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Box Version).

Navigon 2000S 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator Top Quality

I never really thought I needed a GPS, especially when I needed to justify spending money for such a device. After getting this GPS, I'm sold. I haven't had much experience with other GPS devices but this one seems to be top of the line. Its easy to use for a beginner. My girlfriend has one from another brand that I have used and it isn't nearly as good as this one.

This thing is so helpful. I love how accurate the maps are and how accurate each turn is. It always knows exactly where I need to turn and tells me so that there's no confusion. A lot of times there are 2 roads close together and I may be unsure which one to take, especially if I used my girlfriend's GPS. This Navigon always makes it clear which one I need to take. The same goes for on the highway and which exit and even which lane to be in as you pass merging highways! I was on a recently renamed highway and even though the highway name was incorrect, every turn and lane change was still exact and got me to my destination with ease. It also helped me change lanes to switch between highways over a congested bridge just by listening to it. There was way too much to watch for so I couldn't look at the GPS. So it was very helpful that the GPS and voice were so accurate.

I highly recommend this Navigon and would do so to my family and friends.Get more detail about Navigon 2000S 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator.

Navigon 2100 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator This instant

Pros: Decent navigator with voice prompts and a reasonable price.
Cons: Map updates may not fit in the installed memory card and no spec for larger cards. No useful tech support.

I have had this unit for two years. It is an adequate performer with some quirks in routing, but I have no experience with other units to compare routing methods. I bought a three year map update from Amazon. The promised "quarterly" updates have been sporadic. I recently received a notice of a new map update. When I tried to load the map, the Navigon software told me my 2 GB SD card was too small to hold the map and I should get a 4 GB card. Researching SD cards showed that 4GB cards are now SDHC. I went to Navigon web support and could find no spec indicating that the 2100 could use SDHC. The only way to contact Navigon is by email from their site - there is no contact phone. The web site promises a reply in 24 to 48 hours. I sent an email asking for confirmation of the type of SD card to use. That was 5 days ago.Get more detail about Navigon 2100 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator.

Garmin nüvi 350 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Factory Refurbished) Immediately

Great product. Easy to use, navigates exactly as designed. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a lower cost GPS. Even though this unit was sold and purchased as "reconditioned", you could not convince me this was anything but a brand new unit. Glad I waited and purchased this unit thru Amazon.com.Get more detail about Garmin nüvi 350 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Factory Refurbished).

Alpine PND-K3 - GPS receiver - automotive Best Quality

Pros
Price - Very Solid and functional GPS.
Good screen and easy to use. Acquires Sat Signal typically in 30 seconds or less.
Bluetooth works fine with my phone however no address book transferred. It does seem to handle calls well. Clear and Loud enough on both ends.
Fairly intuitive to use. Intuitive typing is a real plus.
Windshield mount is solid and well built
Again, for the price, cant go wrong. No much more than some spend on Map updates on other models.
Called Cust Service before purchase. Quickly got to a rep . Talked generally about the PND-K3. Said it is a current model that will continue to be supported.

Cons
Battery? Not sure. Will typically have it plugged in.
Routes? Not always the best routes if you know where you are going. Not bad routes but not always the absolute best.
Some missing POI's but haven't noticed any missing streets.

I have played around with all aspects of the GPS. It is fairly intuitive, but the best way to learn is just by playing and touching the screens in various places.Plugged it in to my computer and it found a software update. No problems. Installed fine.
Having used other GPS, it seems that they all calculate some routes that you may disagree with. Again, if you don't know where you're going, the routes seem fine. No routes were just totally wrong. Most GPS use the same mapping company so I imaging the routes and POI's are similar.
One poster mentioned that the voice was too low to hear. There are 2 audio settings. One is in Audio settings the other is thru up and down buttons on the top of the unit. My guess is that the other poster did not use the buttons as the voice is loud and clear when turned up. At half volume it is very low.

I did not get the MSM version although after the update and MSM icon appeared. Sure that this could accept MSM with and add-on.

Noticed other expert reviews that were good. But there biggest drawback was the initial price. Would imagine that it would be rated very high based on today's price

Nextar SNAP5 Super Slim 5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator Get it now!

GPS units need to do one thing: get you from here to there. The Nextar 5 does that quite well, with some bonuses I didn't expect in the price range as well as a few negatives.

First, the positives: The screen is huge compared to my last GPS. It's easy to read from anywhere in the car (especially great for my kids in the back seat that like to watch where we are) although it can get washed out in direct sunlight - though that's par for the course. It's also got built in batteries that allow you to unplug it and use it on foot for a while, which is nice, and an AC adapter for use outside of the car, also a neat feature.

The directions are excellent, even catching a U-turn around an island near my office that most miss. Getting off course and then re-routing is also incredibly easy. It has both night and day modes, which I liked, as it dims the display down so as not to be distracting when driving after dark, and you can choose between multiple display modes to suit your personal preferences.

So it gives good directions, has a great, large screen, and looks good - what are the negatives? First of all, it takes longer than I think it ought to to start-up and load the navigation software. That may not bother most people, but I didn't like it. Worse though, the touchscreen is not consistently responsive, causing me to hit a selection once, wait a few seconds and hit it again, at which point it registers both hits and goes past where I want it to. If also found the POI settings a big non-intuitive - I found it took longer that I thought it ought to to figure out exactly how to display the specific items I wanted displayed at any given time. Finally, for some reason my unit will not auto-set the time; something my other GPS units have no problem doing. There's a setting to allow it, but it says it's unable to do so. And when I manually set it, it would forget what time zone I was in every time I turned it off, which made the clock off by 5 hours every time I turned it back on. Weirdly, this behavior just fixed itself recently, and it now at least remembers the time zone.

Most of these issues are picking nits though, and with the exception of the time zone issue, which has apparently fixed itself, none are deal-breakers. The core functionality of the Snap5 has been fantastic, and for that reason I'd recommend it as a good and budget conscious alternative to some of the other GPS units on the market. Pioneer AVIC-F900BT In-Dash Navigation Audio/Video Receiver with DVD Playback and Advance Voice Controls Buy Now

I purchased this from a dealer in January, 2009, who installed it very well. 2.0 firmware out of the box. The unit has some good points, however, the bottom line is that it is *mostly annoying*

What drove me over the edge is that today I received an Email from Pioneer wanting $120 for new maps and new OS. I will NEVER buy another Pioneer product!

Nevertheless, to give you more detail:

PROS;
1.) It generally works, sooner or later. The integrated functionality with bluetooth, iPod, DVD, GPS is nice.
2.) iPod functionality is much like the real iPod interface using the touchscreen.

CONS: This unit is slow. The touchscreen is slow, sometimes pauses for a long time. The unit reminds me of when Microsoft came out with Windows ME when pentiuum first hit the streets: Flaky and slow and it gets confused about once a day. . . needs a Ctrl/Alt/Delete key to reboot it seems

The GPS is slow. Slow. Forget a rear camera because it takes much too long to boot. My wife has a Magellian which is much better as it announces street names and is faster and gets it right more often. Being new to Houston, it is tempting to borrow her Magellian just to not have to put up with this (garmen) contraption.

The voice recognition is poor. It misses more than it get it right.

My biggest complaint are the FONTS (Pioneer are you listening!?) I replaced a nice clock in the dash and because the fonts are soo small and some baby-blue color, I frequently have to have a passenger tell me what time it is, much less the GPS info. Annoying is an understatement.

Bluetooth is also annoying. The volume is all over the place some days. The fidelity of the voices coming through the car speakers is very shrill and cannot be adjusted, even though the other audio is OK.

If I thought the dealer would give me a refund this late in the game, I would. There has GOT to be something better out there --reader, you probably want to shop around- I wish someone had warned me. . .
