Cheapest TomTom ONE XL 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Maps of the U.S. and Canada

I absolutely love the TomTom GPS and prefer their products to Garmin. I used the the rental car's TomTom GPS and immediately loved the easy interface and the smooth transition from directions to menus, etc. Used several Garmin systems and none have some close to this system and now I know why the Europeans are fans of TomToms.Get more detail about TomTom ONE XL 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Maps of the U.S. and Canada.

Cheap Navigon 2100 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

Pros: Decent navigator with voice prompts and a reasonable price.
Cons: Map updates may not fit in the installed memory card and no spec for larger cards. No useful tech support.

I have had this unit for two years. It is an adequate performer with some quirks in routing, but I have no experience with other units to compare routing methods. I bought a three year map update from Amazon. The promised "quarterly" updates have been sporadic. I recently received a notice of a new map update. When I tried to load the map, the Navigon software told me my 2 GB SD card was too small to hold the map and I should get a 4 GB card. Researching SD cards showed that 4GB cards are now SDHC. I went to Navigon web support and could find no spec indicating that the 2100 could use SDHC. The only way to contact Navigon is by email from their site - there is no contact phone. The web site promises a reply in 24 to 48 hours. I sent an email asking for confirmation of the type of SD card to use. That was 5 days ago.Get more detail about Navigon 2100 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator.

Buying Garmin Adjustable Vehicle Suction Cup Mount - GPS receiver mount

This mount seems to be better than the factory original. At first I was concerned that the "neck" of the mount with the knob on the end to which you attach the Garmin was stationary and didn't move up and down like the factory original. However, I have found that not having the up and down movement of the neck decreased the likelihood that it will snap off while trying to mount or dismount the unit.

I had to purchase this mount because the hinges on the neck of factory original mount snapped when my wife was trying to take the unit off the mount. This one I purchased seems to be a better design than the factory original.Get more detail about Garmin Adjustable Vehicle Suction Cup Mount - GPS receiver mount.

Purchase TomTom GO 630 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator (Factory Refurbished)

I read several reviews on buying refurbished TomTom's. Some said you get a coupon included for a free update and others said that they just called TomTom and they reluctantly allowed them to get the most current map update. I bought a refurbished one as a gift for my sister because I loved my TomTom GPS.

Beware! The refurb unit did not come with a coupon code and when I called TomTom they absolutely would not give me an update. I even talked to the main supervisor and even when I explained that I loved my TomTom and recommended their GPS unit to everyone, he would not budge. I even sent him a webpage from "[...]" which said that every refurbished unit comes with a coupon code for a free update. He said that website is not affiliated with TomTom and they are not responsible for their misinformation. He said he could not make an exception, even as a matter of good customer relations.

Bottom line is that TomTom offers a very good GPS product that I would still recommend to anyone. Just beware of buying a refurb. The unit worked and looked new but if having the most current map update is important, be prepared to spend the $80 or so to get it. Also, hopefully you will not need to count on TomTom to do the right thing if you need customer service.Get more detail about TomTom GO 630 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator (Factory Refurbished).

Where To Buy i-gotU GT-120 Travel Blog Master (USB GPS, Data Logger, SiRF III Chipset) (Bumper Case, Data Cable and Software Included) (GT-120)

I had the opportunity to use i-gotU data logger in Machupicchu in my last vacations. The device worked perfectly from morning to night logging GPS information each 30 seconds in bus, train or walking. You will need to charge batteries for a couple of hours at night. I took around 500 pictures in 3 days and all of them are now Geotaged with included software using a Vista computer.Get more detail about i-gotU GT-120 Travel Blog Master (USB GPS, Data Logger, SiRF III Chipset) (Bumper Case, Data Cable and Software Included) (GT-120).

Shop For Sony NVU94T 4.8-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic and Text-to-Speech

I own NVU73T which is similar to this model except blue tooth. I got it for $85 when it was in clearance. I do not know other companies gps but I absolutely love this sony gps. Especially I love this features:

1. Dual screen mode at the intersections. It clearly shows how many feets you are away from the turn. I bet that you will never miss any turn with this gps.

2. Lane assist on the freeways. It clearly shows the number of lanes that go in different directions with big
arrows.

3. Block route option. Recently on my long trip, I ended up on a road that was closed. I blocked that road and gps calculated the new route.

4. you can surf the map like google map with touch screen to see what is around.

5. It learns your proffered route.

6. It shows points of interest with big iconsGet more detail about Sony NVU94T 4.8-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic and Text-to-Speech.

TomTom XL 340 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator Review

This device is good. Easy to install. In the car also easy to use, although the attaching plate is quite loose. Battery life is good too.
No experience with the update yet.
Be careful with the navigation!!!
I needed to go somewhere one day, so I set my navigation etc. on the night before. Then the next day started the navigation, but then it directed me to a quite different place, about 7 miles off. It was so weird, and so I missed my important appointment. The moral is: ALWAY DUBBLE CHECK YOUR NAVIGATION BEFORE DEPARTURE!!!Get more detail about TomTom XL 340 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator.

Garmin 010-10052-05 GA 27C Remote Antenna with MCX Connector This instant

We ride horses in heavy/dense areas and down in gorges, etc. This antenna is attached to our riding helmet and we keep our GPS in our pocket. We have never lost the satellite signal during our rides and have always been able to pinpoint our location. It is a lifesaver for us since we often ride in areas that are un-mapped by anyone. It has never let us down. Just make sure you secure the extra, unused wire running from the antenna to the GPS bundled with tape so that it doesn't get crimped or twisted too many times. Due to the fragile wires inside, they have been known to get broken. I think if the manufacturer had used a heavier coating on the wires, this would not be a problem. I have been using my antenna for about 2 yrs now, and no problem with it. A friend of mine has been using his for about 4 yrs and no problems there either.
Very good investment if you are doing hiking or riding in un-mapped or unknown areas.Get more detail about Garmin 010-10052-05 GA 27C Remote Antenna with MCX Connector.

Microsoft MapPoint 2009 [OLD VERSION] Best Quality

This is definitely not your dad's mapping program. I expected this to be an upgrade over something simple as MapQuest, but this obviously much more than that. From the moment you start using it, you will realize this is indeed for business and not for personal use. There are a lot of business terminology that confused me and took time to learn what it all means. The interface is average and actually shows its age as it is not innovative, but those who used Windows programs before should be able to recognize it. I was able to plan out a simple trip, which included cost and gave me an array to choose from of what to do during the trip, but as mentioned, it took several hours of program use just to figure out what I was doing. Bottom Line is this is definitely for business use.Get more detail about Microsoft MapPoint 2009 [OLD VERSION].
