Purchase Garmin nüvi 670 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator

Bought this as a backup/replacement unit for an older Magellan Roadmate unit. Have used it extensively in US, Canada, and a long driving trip through most of Spain.

General features are OK. Was familiar with lower-range Garmin models that AVIS rents with their cars.
Setup and base configuration were easy.

Main "quirks" found so far:
- sometimes has phantom exit/entry while on highway - inexpicably asks you to exit then re-enter.. one learns to avoid these after awhile
- hard to specify routing options (quickest time, shortest distance, avoid highway, etc). these are buried deep in the menus

PRO: good value (got it on sale), easy-to-use, compact size
CONS: phantom errors, route customization not simpleGet more detail about Garmin nüvi 670 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator.

Order TomTom GO 730T 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic Receiver

After using Garmin GPS systems for many years, I decided to buy the 730T Based on features and bang for the buck. I love the display and actual navigation......however, here are my issues:

1)Loses Bluetooth communication with my phone often and needs to be reset through reset hole in bottom.
2)Has few POI's, and the majority of thm are in the wrong location, and I mean WAY off, sometimes miles.
3)You can make all the map corrections and add safety cameras you like, but even months after uploading them, they are not in your unit.
4)All the updates remain on the computer an can not be transferred to the unit even with a 4 gig additional card. Only option is main memory and it is filled with maps.
5)When you sync the unit it generally crashes and has to be hard reset.
6)After you arrive at a destination, you must clear route or the unit keeps trying to get you back to the same point.
7)It takes 3 screens to clear a route.

So next time it's back to Garmin. I have had 4 Garmin units and while I do prefer some of the TomTom features, the Garmin is more up to date and accurate.Get more detail about TomTom GO 730T 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic Receiver.

Where To Buy GPS Navigation Initial GM-501 5-Inch Portable GPS/MP3 Receiver with Bluetooth

I have had this item for a little over a year. It works really well. Although it does show me off the road at times. I have loaned it to friends you said it worked well for them. it has Blue tooth with caller ID which I have used. The only downfall is the speakers are not to loud so when the car stereo is on it is hard to hear. I bought a cheap pair of fold-up speakers and plugged them into the unit and it works very well.Get more detail about GPS Navigation Initial GM-501 5-Inch Portable GPS/MP3 Receiver with Bluetooth.

Shop For Garmin GVN 53 North American Remote GPS Navigation System

I looked at many gps systems and found Garmin to probably be the best. I wanted a large screen because I didn't want to have to squint or try and make out where I am going at freeway speeds on a four inch screen. This one is seven inches and that is easy to see. I can push enter my settings or searches or I can use a remote. I can sit back and use the remote to go where I want. Ease of use is there... for locations I can set it to home and push hoome and it goes there. If I like a place where I am at... I add it to favorites and then I can go there again and again... if I have searched for something and gone there... forgot how to get there or don't want to put in a big complicated search... I go to recent searches and voila... there is is and I click on that... and then it finds it and then GO TO and it tells me how to go there. I have always been a little indimidated by gps systems... and the other guy things was I don't need one... I can do it. I tell you... I have driven up into Canada where everything is FRENCH... and this thing told me step by step how to get around... it even offered me a baggette. Look... this is a great system... I actually bought two from amazon for they had the cheapest price.... I bought a portable one for my Moms car and I actually bought one for my truck that is permanent... but has no monitor... it works with the monitor I have and the sound comes out through my speakers and I can adjust it through my speakers... as to the sound on my Moms... I seriously thought it was going to be very weak... Not at all... it is perfect... you will have problems listening at all. For my Moms... she calls her Mrs. Worthington... because I did the English accent on hers... and mine is Sally because she just has a American accent... if there is such a thing. Bottom line... you will get VERY VERY lazy with these... you will not pay attention how to get to places and therefore you will not remember how to get there or learn it. You will GPS it every single time... that is the only bad thing about these that I can see. But if you do it a few times... to the same place... you will start to remember but then what fun is that if you don't hear it say... in 1.5 miles... turn right... nothing is cooler than that. I will never go back. Get more detail about Garmin GVN 53 North American Remote GPS Navigation System.

Magellan RoadMate 300 GPS Portable Navigator

Magellan Customer service is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They offer a free 30 day map update since all of their products ship with out of date maps. This would be a good thing except it is in the fine print of their products and their customer support email address that their website list is the wrong address. I had to get through to their customer service by posting a bad review on their website. By the time they responded my unit was beyond the 30 day limit and they refused to give me the update. This is a bad business practice. Garmin has a 60 day guarantee which is posted directly on their website in plain view.Get more detail about Magellan RoadMate 300 GPS Portable Navigator.

Magellan RoadMate 360 GPS Portable Navigator Top Quality

I am sooo thankful for the speedy delivery this company gave me....

The item is cute and practical and pretty easy to use. I am just used to the Navigators that work while being unplugged.... This one does not work that way and so I thought that it was broken or something....

But when I emailed the company that sold em the navigator. They were polite and let me know that its not broken....It has no back-up battery...

I was sooooo disappointed.... I didn't remember reading that anywhere.

Its Cute but not what I expected..... Mine just sits in the box! Get more detail about Magellan RoadMate 360 GPS Portable Navigator.

Lowrance 112-61 iWay 350C Portable GPS Navigator and MP3 Player and Picture Viewer Immediately

This unit worked fine for me, until I had a error on the screen when starting it up one day. The error was "Error Loading Title Bar Gif".
I could not get that error to go away.
The only way to get that error to go away and for the unit to work correctly again is to run the unit on battery power until it completely goes dead by itself. Then plug in the power supply and it will restart and the problem will go away.
I contacted their support many times and was told to send it in for repair. This repair is free. I had to figure it out for myself. I even told them about this repair, but they will not post it as a repair on their website.
Support stinks.Get more detail about Lowrance 112-61 iWay 350C Portable GPS Navigator and MP3 Player and Picture Viewer.

Nokia 500 4.3'' Portable GPS Navigator with Bluetooth Get it now!

I bought this product for $90 from eBay. I bought it hoping that it will live up to the standards set by Nokia Maps that I've used on my Nokia N75 phone.

The only reason why I'm rating this product low is because it has 2007 maps and Nokia does not provide latest maps.

Pros:-
- interface is consistent with Nokia Maps, that is available on cell phone
- locks on to up to 8 satellites
- has FM transmitter that can be used to broadcast songs, video and turn-by-turn directions (this is good if you feel that the sound is not load enough, especially if you are driving with window open)
- good routing algorithm
- pretty quick to recalculate route
- if the turn is within a mile then it displays (and speaks) in yards, for the next turn. This is helpful in downtown
- pretty accurate pronunciation of street names

Cons:-
- old (2007) maps
- no option to update the maps
- if you do not enter the state and directly type in the zip code, then it takes up to 4 secs find the city
- device screen freezes if you play with all the features at the same time.
- takes up to 4 minutes to lock on to a satellite
- synced with phone for phone numbers, but did not pick up the address from contacts

With out dated maps, I don't think its worth buying the device.
Nokia should definitely provide maps update feature, if they want this product to be sold in the market.

Motorola MOTONAV TN30 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator Buy Now

Borrowed this from a friend...otherwise it would be back in the box and going back to the store. We knew our route, but the GPS kept insisting that we turn around for the first 4 hours of our trip. The arrival time was 9 hours too late from the beginning, and never changed until I reset the route. GPS couldn't find a signal, though I was in a major metropolitan area. Finally, the GPS got a mind of it's own and thought we were 13 miles into our return trip, though we were sitting in a driveway. It froze like that and had to be manually reset 12 times before it would unfreeze. It still couldn't find a GPS signal. Good thing I had maps in the car, as we really needed the unit for the return trip, but it wouldn't work. Very disappointed, but am finding that in most Motorola products these days.Get more detail about Motorola MOTONAV TN30 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator.

Teletype 330060 3.5-Inch Worldnav Portable GPS Navigator Order Now

Are you the driver or company owner of heavy vehicles such as semi-trucks, buses or RVs? If you are then you are probably aware of how important it is to be able to transport either goods or human beings from one location to another in a timely fashion. Many times, there is no room for you to fall off course, as there are commitments on the other end of your journey that need to be taken care of. So finding the right tools to get your goal of reliability accomplished is your first and foremost priority. For many drivers and company owners, the issue of accuracy is nonexistent because they have purchased a GPS system to help them reach their destinations with perfect accuracy every time. If you're interested in this same level of accuracy then you may want to look at the Teletype 330060 GPS navigation system, which was created for larger vehicles, and has a great reputation for offering that accuracy you need.

About the System

The Teletype 330060 Worldnav portable GPS unit comes from the award-winning company that offers multiple GPS devices for both large and small vehicles. This particular unit however was created for the RV, bus and truck as it makes sure that you will only travel on roads permitted for vehicles the size and weight you're driving. It features a 3.5-inch touchscreen that allows you to easily navigate through preloaded maps of the United States and Canada. You can also take advantage of the SD card that comes with it as it allows you to store even more maps on the system, depending on where you find yourself in the world. And it offers a rechargeable Li-ion battery that allows you to use the device up to 2 hours at a time before recharging - a great feature for those who take shorter distance trips.

Now that we know about the basics of the Teletype 330060, let's look at some of the more standout features of this device:

Turn-by-Turn Voice Navigation - There is nothing handier than having someone in your ear giving you guidance on which streets to take to get you from one destination to another. And if you're in your own city, you may have a friend who is great with directions who can help you in this way a lot. However, when you travel outside of your city, it's harder to find people who can provide you with this luxury. That's why a navigation system like this one is great. It not only can help you route your destination from point A to point B, it also provides voice prompted instruction so that you don't have to take your eyes off the route to read directions on the screen.

Truck Routing - Again, driving a large truck, bus or RV can easily become a hindrance when you have to make deliveries at specific times, yet you are stalled or have to backtrack because you've reached a point on your journey that cannot accommodate your vehicle. Depending on the client you're working for during this trip, you may find that you'll lose money if what you're transporting is late. But even more, the money you'll lose in gas can become even more costly in the long run. This is why the Teletype 330060 is very beneficial to drivers of large vehicles; because part of its service includes offering only routes that can accommodate a vehicle that matches the size and weight of yours. So if you're worried about bridge heights, load limits, allowances, left-hand exits, or other large vehicle issues, you don't have to worry with this device.

Over 12 Million POIs - If you're not familiar with a GPS system then you've probably never heard of a POI, or point of interest. A POI is a public location that the system thinks you may find to be interesting during your travels. For instance, a POI may be a truck stop, weigh station, gas station, ATM, restaurant, or convenience store - anywhere that you may need to stop while traveling. The Teletype 330060 offers a database with over 12 million of them for your convenience. So if you reach a city and need to make a quick stop, simply scroll through the list, select your location then have the system guide you to your destination.

The Teletype 330060 offers a lot of other great features, including hazmat routing, waypoint storing and an MP3/video player. So why not take time to learn a little more about how one of these systems can help you? You may find that the Teletype 330060 is just the answer you need.
