Cheapest RAM Mounting Systems Suction Cup Mount for Garmin GPS 60, GPSMAP 60, 60C, 60CS, 60CX, 60CSx

I bought one of Garmin's window mounts for my 60CSx. The GPS is awesome, but the mount is a total POS. So after wasting money on it and another cheapie from eBay, I finally broke down and bought the RAM Mount. Wow, this thing kicks butt! The suction cup could probably hold a small (or large) child, and the rest of the system is rock solid as well. Sure, it's heavier and a bit more clunky than Garmin's mount, but you won't find a more secure mount for your GPS.

I only wish I'd had the sense to buy this right away rather than blowing all that dough on inferior mounts.Get more detail about RAM Mounting Systems Suction Cup Mount for Garmin GPS 60, GPSMAP 60, 60C, 60CS, 60CX, 60CSx.

Cheap Bracketron UFM-200-BL Dash-Mat Universal Device Holder (Black)

This stays on most of the time, but if you accelerate or turn quickly, it slides off. I wound up putting a non-slip mat underneath it. It also only adjusts click-by-click, so you don't have fine-tune adjustment of the position.Get more detail about Bracketron UFM-200-BL Dash-Mat Universal Device Holder (Black).

Buying ARKON GN033 Garmin Nuvi Cup Holder Mount with 17MM Ball Head

This mount works perfectly in my 2007 Dodge Ram. Windshield mounts just are too inconvenient to use in this truck. This unit places the GPS in easy reach and with good visibility. It adjusts to fit either the large cup holders or the small center holder where the coin holder originally sat. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that in my opinion the quality isn't that great. It feels a little on the fragile side and the size adjuster really feels cheap and prone to breakage. All in all though, it hasn't broken yet and I've used it quite a few times so I would buy it again as it provides the solution I need for my truck.Get more detail about ARKON GN033 Garmin Nuvi Cup Holder Mount with 17MM Ball Head.

Buy Garmin Nuvi 1300T Gps Navigation System

First, I have owed and used various GPS units from various makers for more than 25 years. I am very familiar with their features and know how to use them. I purchased a Garmin 1300T from a big box store because I needed it immediately while in the midst of a road trip and was unable to wait for even express delivery. Everything about the experience was bad. First the display unit in the store was not working, (which should have been a clue) so I could not evaluate the interface. I was not allowed to open the bubble pack to view the contents of an actual sales item, but was assured that (1) I could return the item with no restocking fee if I was unhappy, AND (2) The package contained both an AC power adapter and USB connector cord as well as car power cord and windshield mount. There is NO AC Adapter or USB cord included. The box contains the unit, a car power cord, a completely useless one page quick start guide, and a crumby suction cup mount with snap on ball and socket clip that will not hold the unit steady while underway in any moving vehicle. The only good thing I can say about it is the unit feels substantially built and has a bright clear display. The maps have a cartoon quality about them which I dislike, but is similar to other like units. The thing powers up with an endless series of disclaimer screens that require you to agree to a multitude of lawyer induced "you can't sue me" conditions of use every single time you turn it on. The address or data input screen has an annoying self completion feature that anticipates (incorrectly) what you are attempting to type and constantly tries to input the wrong destination. I did not have the unit long enough to learn how to override this. The traffic advisory feature, which I also was unable to turn off, bombards you with endless unwanted advertising. It turns out my unit was defective in that the touch screen and keyboard entry touch screen had some dead spots making accurate typed data input impossible. I really hate this product. When I attempted to return it within 24 hours, a half hour battle ensued over the retailer's attempt to charge a restocking fee, until I proved to three increasing level managers in a row that this piece of junk was indeed defective. If any of you choose to buy one over my advice, at least make sure you can get your money back.Get more detail about Garmin Nuvi 1300T Gps Navigation System.

Purchase RAM Mounting Systems RAM-HOL-GA32U Plastic Cradle for Garmin Nuvi 500 and 550

I like the holder, but it does NOT come with a RAM mount ball on the back side. A photo of the back would clarify that. Also, you cannot insert or remove the GPS unit with the power cord attached. This is a problem depending on how tight things are behind your RAM mount location.Get more detail about RAM Mounting Systems RAM-HOL-GA32U Plastic Cradle for Garmin Nuvi 500 and 550.

Shop For Holux M-1000C Bluetooth GPS Data Logger Travel Recorder (Bluetooth, USB , 66CH, WAAS, 200k Waypoints, M1000c)

I bought the Holux M-1000c with the purpose of geotagging my photos. The software was really easy to use, and the time synchronization worked great. The instruction manual says that you need a special mini-USB cable in order to communicate via USB, but a standard mini-USB cable worked fine for me to download the data and configure the device.

I've also used the device in my car, and the it works great there as well. Get more detail about Holux M-1000C Bluetooth GPS Data Logger Travel Recorder (Bluetooth, USB , 66CH, WAAS, 200k Waypoints, M1000c).

Garmin nüMaps Onetime City Navigator North America NT Map Update Top Quality

I needed to update my StreetPilot c550 since it was several years old. I read in other reviews of some horrors with some of the updates. I will have to say, I had no problem eventhough it took several hours. I am now seeing highways that had not been on my Garmin previously. The only reason I gave it only four stars is the cost of the update - the price is rather steep for a one time use. Magellan RoadMate 1475T 4.7-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic Receiver This instant

Fantastic product! I am glad that I bought this unit as an upgrade from my Magellan Maestro 4250. I bought my Magellan RoadMate 1475T after reading reviews on Amazon.com for this product and was relieved to find it more reliable and improved in almost every way from my Magellan Maestro 4250. In a side-by-side comparison of the two (both with current Firmware and maps) on a two hour trip from Virginia through Washington, DC into Maryland, I found:

- The 1475T gave none of the occasionally incorrect turn recommendations that I have experienced with my 4250. At one point in my trip, the units gave conflicting recommendations at the same time (one said "turn left" and the other said "turn right"), I went with the 1475T and it was the correct course of action.

- The 1475T displays information in a more useful way from the 4250. There is less clutter and the map is displayed in a larger size on a similar sized screen. I found myself looking more and more at the 1475T (rather than the 4250) as the trip progressed.

- The 1475T provides an option to avoid toll roads where the 4250 has always seemed to favor them.

- Turn direction and other information spoken by the 1475T is given at more appropriate times than the 4250. The turn "ding" of the 4250 always seems to ring out at the last possible second causing me to miss turns in the past if not careful. The RoadMate gives a slightly earlier warning in this regard, but not too early.

- The 1475T did fewer course recalculations along the way.

- The 1475T was a great value at less than half the price I paid for my 4250 two years ago.

- The Traffic Link feature is a plus.

RoadMate 1475T negatives:

- The unit did not come with a case or AC charger adapter. You will need to fully charge the battery before upgrading to the latest Firmware version. I used my Maestro 4250 AC adapter and it worked just fine with the RoadMate 1475T. I ordered a leather case from Amazon.com and see excellent deals on adapters on Amazon as well.

- The female voice spoken by the RoadMate 1475T is slightly more mechanical and less natural sounding than the Magellan Maestro 4250, confirming other reviews on this webpage.

Before my purchase, I did in-store comparisons of the 1475T to Garmin and TomTom GPS units costing more. I found the 1475T screen navigation more intuitive and user friendly. Garmin units require street numbers when entering an address, while Magellan give a range to chose from. If you need to go to a location without a street address (National Park, military base with building numbers not street numbers), the Garmin will let you down -- a deal-breaker as far as I am concerned. Additionally, I found the map display of the Magellan more attractive and appealing than either Garmin or TomTom.
